Following its successful launch in Bandung, J&T Connect Preneur Goes to Campus has now arrived in Medan. Held at Universitas Sumatera Utara on May 21, the event featured Rizky Arief, CEO of HMNS Perfume, and Renny Katrina Manurung, Founder of Dame Ulos, as speakers. Carrying the theme “Hustle Culture: Breaking into the National Market with Strong Strategy and Operations,” the interactive talk show explored the speakers’ journeys in building businesses from the ground up, developing products that resonate with the market, and eventually expanding to the national level amid an increasingly competitive business landscape.
Herline Septia, Brand Manager of J&T Express, stated that the program reflects J&T Express’ commitment to supporting the growth of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia. By bringing together two successful business owners with different business approaches and brand characteristics, the program aims to provide students with valuable perspectives and practical insights into building and growing a business in today’s competitive digital era.
“J&T Connect Preneur Goes to Campus is part of J&T Express’ commitment to engaging more closely with young people and supporting the emergence of more young entrepreneurs in Indonesia. As interest in entrepreneurship among young people continues to grow, we hope this program can serve as a relevant learning platform that helps them develop their businesses from an early stage,” said Herline.
Medan was selected as one of the program locations due to the strong entrepreneurial interest among students in the city. This is reflected in leading universities such as Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed), both of which offer entrepreneurship study programs. Through J&T Connect Preneur Goes to Campus, J&T Express hopes to provide students with new opportunities to gain insights, mentorship, and support in developing their businesses from an early stage.
In addition to the talk show, J&T Express has also launched J&T Super Seller, a national business competition for university students across Indonesia who have been operating a business for at least six months. The competition offers total prizes worth more than IDR 400 million and includes an incubation program for the top 10 participants. During the incubation phase, selected participants will receive intensive mentoring and initial business funding of IDR 20 million each.
“This program is designed not only as a learning platform, but also as an ecosystem that provides students with real opportunities to grow their businesses sustainably. Through this initiative and leveraging our logistics capabilities, J&T Express aims to play a role beyond being a delivery service provider—we want to be a business enabler that supports the growth of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia,” Herline added.
In recognition of its potential impact on students, J&T Connect Preneur Goes to Campus has received support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The program is also supported by Narasi, Young on Top, BCA, Prabu, Satu Dental, Kacamatamoo, and Kapal Api, along with media partners including Tribunnews, Kompas.com, Viva, Marketeers, Marketing, Radar Bali, Radar Jogja, Radar Kediri, Radar Semarang, Radar Surabaya, Radar Bandung, Manado Post, Kaltim Post, and Batam Pos.
